Terms of use

These terms cover the FlightFrame iOS app, the frames you link to it, the FlightFrame service behind them, FlightFrame Plus and frame reservations on this website. Please read them alongside our privacy policy.

Who we are

FlightFrame is provided by Miradouro LLC (“we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and Miradouro LLC. You can reach us at support@flightframe.io.

These terms and Apple’s

By signing in to the app or reserving a frame on this website, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use FlightFrame.

The app is licensed to you through the App Store under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA). These terms apply alongside it. Where the two differ about the licence of the app itself, the Standard EULA applies.

Your account

  • Everything in the app needs an account. You create one by signing in with Apple or Google. If FlightFrame sets up an account for you, you sign in with the email address and password we give you. There is no preview or guest mode.
  • Keep your Apple or Google account, or your FlightFrame email and password, secure. Anything done through your signed-in FlightFrame account is treated as done by you.
  • You can delete your account at any time in the app, under Account → Delete account. What deletion does.

The service

FlightFrame turns aircraft passing the area your frame watches into artwork automatically. It relies on third-party flight data and on generated imagery, so a print can contain mistakes: a wrong route, airline or aircraft, or a flight that isn’t shown at all.

FlightFrame is for enjoyment only. Never rely on it for navigation, flight planning, safety or any other operational purpose.

We work to keep FlightFrame running, but we can’t promise it will always be available, complete or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features over time.

Your frames

  • A frame shows new artwork while it is linked to a FlightFrame account, connected to Wi-Fi and collecting.
  • A frame belongs to one account at a time. You can release a frame from your account, and deleting your account releases every frame linked to it. A released frame’s location is deleted and its name is reset; its next owner sets their own.
  • Without Plus, one frame can be linked to your account. Linking more needs FlightFrame Plus. Frames you have already linked stay linked if Plus ends.
  • Frame prices and delivery dates are set per batch and shown on the reservation page before you reserve.

Your Hangar

New artwork from your frames arrives in your Hangar. Your Hangar shows your newest artwork up to your plan’s limit. When there is more, the oldest artwork you haven’t favourited is hidden first; your newest artwork and anything a frame is showing are never hidden.

Hidden artwork is deleted once it has been hidden for 30 days without Plus, unless a frame is showing it or someone else who can see it still keeps it. Artwork that isn’t a favourite and isn’t on a frame is deleted 29 days after its flight was last seen. The Hangar is a rolling collection, not a permanent archive.

FlightFrame Plus

FlightFrame Plus is an optional, auto-renewing subscription that adds features to your account, such as a larger Hangar, airport arrivals and departures modes, aircraft filters and more than one frame. The core experience works without it. What Plus includes and its price are shown in the app before you subscribe.

  • Plus is sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple charges the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  • You can manage or cancel Plus in your Apple Account settings, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. After you cancel, Plus stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. We can’t issue refunds for App Store purchases.
  • Deleting your FlightFrame account does not cancel Plus. Cancel it with Apple first.
  • Plus can’t be shared through Family Sharing.
  • If Plus ends, your account returns to the features without Plus. Your Hangar limit goes back down, and older artwork above it is hidden as described above.

Reserving a frame on this website

Frames are made in batches. The reservation page shows the batch that is open, with its price, reservation fee, closing date and planned delivery date, and we record which version of those terms you accepted. In short:

Reserving in a batch

  • You reserve a frame by paying the reservation fee in euros through Stripe’s secure checkout. Your place is confirmed only once we have verified the payment. Prices include VAT. Each batch says where it delivers and what delivery costs; a delivery charge is shown before you reserve and is added to the balance.
  • At checkout you save a card and give your delivery address. You agree that we may charge the rest of the price to that card once the batch is confirmed.
  • A batch closes on its closing date, or sooner if it fills. When we confirm it, we email you the day the balance will be taken before we take it.
  • If your card can’t be charged, we email you a secure link to pay instead. If the balance isn’t paid by the time shown in that email, your place lapses and we refund your reservation fee.
  • Your reservation fee is credited in full against the price. It is refundable until the balance is charged: email support@flightframe.io with your reference. Any refund, full or partial, ends the reservation. If a batch does not go ahead, we refund every reservation fee for it.
  • The delivery date is our plan for the batch. If it changes we’ll tell you, and you can cancel for a full refund.
  • After delivery you can cancel within 14 days of receiving your frame, and it is covered by the legal guarantee where you live: three years in Portugal, at least two elsewhere in the EU.

When no batch is open

You can leave your name and email to hear when the next batch opens. It’s free, with no obligation to buy, and it doesn’t reserve a frame or a delivery date.

Deposits paid before batches

A priority deposit paid before frames were sold in batches stays refundable until you pay for your frame, and is credited in full against its price. To ask for a refund, email support@flightframe.io with your reference.

Using FlightFrame fairly

  • Use FlightFrame for personal, lawful purposes.
  • Only add an aircraft that you fly, as you confirm when you add it. Aircraft owners can ask us to stop an aircraft being followed, and we may remove or block any aircraft.
  • Only upload a profile photo that you have the right to use.
  • Don’t try to access other people’s accounts or frames, interfere with or overload the service, or copy, scrape or reverse engineer it, except where the law allows.

Artwork and trademarks

The FlightFrame app, website, designs and artwork belong to us or to those who license them to us. You may view your artwork in the app and on your frames for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment.

Airline, airport and aircraft names are the trademarks of their owners and appear only to describe the flights shown. FlightFrame is not affiliated with or endorsed by any airline, airport or aircraft manufacturer.

Flight data credits

Aircraft positions: adsb.lol, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Aircraft and route data: Virtual Radar Server standing data (CC0).

Ending your use

You can stop using FlightFrame at any time and delete your account in the app. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires us to. Where appropriate, we’ll tell you why.

Our responsibility to you

We provide FlightFrame with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit, and nothing in them affects your legal rights as a consumer.

Otherwise, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for problems caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as flight data sources, Apple, Google or your internet connection.

Changes and the law

We may update these terms. If a change affects you significantly, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you don’t accept the change, you can stop using FlightFrame and delete your account.

If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and can bring a claim in your local courts.
